Rachael Dier is a multimedia storyteller and researcher based in Atlanta, Georgia. A mixed-methods researcher, she specializes in amplifying voices and advocating for underserved communities.

After earning my Masters in Emerging Media Studies at Boston University, I started my journey in media research at CNN analyzing performance and audience during the 2020 election. After transitioning to HBO/HBO Max, I joined the Content Research team where I worked in a dual role as a Content Strategy Analyst (conducting competitive analysis, analyzing performance and audience insights for original series, etc.) and Content Research Analyst (conducting qualitative and quantitative primary research throughout the lifecycle of original series and films).

Currently, I am managing the Audience Research team at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, conducting primary mixed-methods research to better serve the communities of Atlanta and the Greater South, while supporting the organization’s transformation from a “storied newspaper to a modern media company”.

Outside of my 9-5, I run my own photography business where I document cherished life moments and empower inspiring people from so many walks of life. Whenever I can, I love combining my love for storytelling with my passion for research and continual learning.
